According to Warren Tyler of Professional Speaker.net and floorcoveringnews weekly magaizne,
"FREE!"  What does it really mean?
At a Big Box store free" doesn't mean "free."
1.You have to know "free Install" is only available on certain items and to qualify, customers have to buy a pad for $.80 a square foot that normally sells for $.40.
2. Armstrong surveyed Lumber Liquidators' signature Bella-wood line and found up to 50% of every box was unusable.  So $3.99 a square foot is really $8.00.
3. Big Box stores are known for ordering 20% more product than is needed, putting the wrong material and taking the cheapest installer they can find, certified or not.

Warren Tyler has 52 years of retail flooring experience. He is one of the industry's most sought after speakers.

Caring for Your New Hardwood Floors is as Important of a Decision As Selecting The Floor Itself.
Take the Extra Steps to Protect Your Hardwood for Many Years.

Thinking of Buying Hardwood Flooring
Some Things To Consider
1. Where in My Home Do I Want To Install Hardwood Floors?
The picture below should help to answer that question.

2. Is Solid Hardwood The Best Choice or is Engineered Hardwood?
Solid wood is milled from a single piece of hardwood. Solid hardwood flooring expands, cups, crowns, warps and contracts with changes in your home's relative humidity.
Engineered wood is produced with three to five layers of hardwood. Each layer is stacked in a cross-grain configuration & bonded together. Engineered hardwood will be less likely to experience the same changes when the relative humidity of your home changes. This option allows you to install hardwood in all levels of your home.

3. Consult the Janka Hardness Scale When Making Your Decision
